LYRICS: 1st Verse: Will you take me for a ride, I'd like to see the other side… before I go. There's just some things I really want to know. And will you tell me what they mean, all the strange things that I've seen... before I die? For oh-so very long I've wondered why... All the things that make me think, and why I always seem to sink when I try. I only want to find some peace of mind. A little peace of mind. 2nd Verse: I'm a seeker on a quest, chasing what I know is best for my soul. Trying to do the things that’ll guide me Home. Chorus: And I'm searching for the answers; are they floating in the air? They say they're all inside you, but would you please show me where? The lights that look like Heaven may blind you in the eye. And all your deepest questions that you ask begin with “Why, why, why??” 3rd Verse: So I've packed a couple things, and I'm going for a ride. I'd like to take some time just to look down deep inside. I don't know where I'm going; only know just where I've been. Led by dreams and inspiration, I am leaving all my friends for a while... for a while. Bridge: I've left all my possessions for a while. To think about the things that make me smile. Do you remember what it was to be a child? If we could only find all the things we've left behind on the road that leads us to our peace of mind. 3rd Verse: As the years are getting older, and my wings are getting colder, I'm finding... I find it's getting easier to fly! And if I fly Home every day, then I will never lose my way. But still we find ourselves... 2nd Chorus: …searching for the answers, are they floating in the air? They say they're all inside you, but would you please show me where. The lights that look like heaven... may blind you in the eye… and all your deepest questions that you ask to find some peace of mind.

Just Relax 04:51
LYRICS: 1st Verse: Just relax... and go slow. There's no need to hurry, for there are no monster's chasing you. Be still... and let go. There's no need to worry, and there's nothing that you really need to do. 2nd Verse: Take time... to look inside. For I can promise you there's nothing about yourself you need to hide. Take off the mask, and let the Light shine on... Your innocent face... you've never done anything wrong. Chorus: And there's nothing scary to protect yourself from. Your nightmares are over; you don't need to run. Just open your eyes and see there's nothing to fear. All of your nightmares have long disappeared. 3rd Verse: It seems a long time ago that you dreamed you'd left Home... And wandered outside in the cold all alone. You tried to make due with all your substitutes. But they could not erase the pain of forgetting the Truth. Well it's still in your Heart, and it's still in your Soul. Just take off your heavy armor, and let it go! And listen to me while I sing you this song. Your friends are all here and your nightmares are gone. -INSTRUMENTAL SOLO- -REPEAT CHORUS- 4th Verse: So just relax... and go slow. There's no need to hurry, for there are no monsters chasing you. Right here, and right now... You can be at peace, for only Love is all around.

LYRICS: 1st Verse: Sometimes it's like the sun is shining, and I can feel it all day. And other times it seems no matter how I try, nothing's gonna go my way. And I don't know why things go the way they go anyway. But that's okay. 2nd Verse: Cause something tells me Life can offer only Love, endless and free. And when I'm afraid, ashamed, and suffering, it's only 'cause I'm thinking 'bout me. I look in the mirror, and I know it's self-deception to believe... that I am the image I see. Cause... Chorus: I feel... the river inside. I keep on trying to hold on to the branches on the side. But when I let go... deep down I know, That everything will be alright if I just go with the flow and let...life unfold. A simple piece of wisdom, that I was once told. It means giving up the illusion that I am in control. Well I can let go... and you can let go... and let... life unfold. 3rd Verse: Well you can take me anywhere... I got nothing to lose. And even if it seems my life is on the line... I'll know it's only just a ruse. I won't be fooled anymore. Because there's nothing that I want more... than to... REPEAT CHORUS We're floating on a river going Home. No need, no need, no need to control. Well I can let go... and we can let go... and let... life unfold.

Already Home 04:04
LYRICS 1st Verse: Well I have tried to find my own way back Home. But I've learned it's pointless without a Guide. I lost my way in the woods of confusion in space and time. I lost my self inside my mind. In my mind... in my mind. But fortunately it's just in my mind. 2nd Verse: Love is the only Answer to all the questions I have tried answering all by myself, which only made me tired. So tired... I tried to do it all myself, and now I'm tired. Chorus: Cause now it's not so easy to lie to myself anymore. Something's Calling me back to Who I was before. I cannot keep running away and relying on myself alone. All I've got to do now is stop, and remember... I'm already Home. I'm never alone. And though I've traveled in dreams, I've never left my Home. 3rd Verse: Well I am addicted to a story... the story of “my life”. I gave up Everything I had... just to be right. To be right... But now I know I'd rather be wrong... and live in the Light! Ending Chorus: Cause now it's not so easy to lie to myself anymore. Something's Calling me back to Who I was before. I cannot keep running away and relying on myself alone. All I've got to do now is stop, and remember... I'm already Home. I'm never alone. And though I've traveled in dreams, I've never left my Home. I've never left Home. And thought I've traveled in dreams, I've never left my Home.

LYRICS: When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right. Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there to brighten up even your darkest nights. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend. If the sky above you should turn dark and full of clouds and that old north wind should begin to blow, keep your head together and call my name out loud. Soon I will be knocking upon your door. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there. Hey, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend? People can be so cold. They'll hurt you and desert you. Well, they'll take your soul if you let them, oh yeah, but don't you let them. You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again. Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call, Lord, I'll be there, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend. You've got a friend. Ain't it good to know you've got a friend. Ain't it good to know you've got a friend. Oh, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend.

LYRICS: 1st Verse: Sometimes I get so afraid Of the made-up world I made. But when I trust inside, There's no need to hide my heart. 2nd Verse: Cause I have suffered far too long. By thinking I could know for myself what's right, and what's wrong. But now I'm learning to laugh At all those games I played in the past. Chorus: Cause now I'm living by the rhythm of the Soul, and it's Calling me Home. I'm giving up believing that I really know anything at all. I'm forgiving myself for being afraid and running away. I'm living by the rhythm of the Soul, and I trust I will be shown... Which way to go, which to flow, which way to know... Who I am, and Who I've always been. 3rd Verse: There’s a secret in your heart, That call tell you Who you are. And if I forgive you, then I may know that secret too. And now I’m… CHORUS Bridge: Well it can be so easy, when I stop making it so hard. When I just trust the river, it gently carries me along to the sound of my favorite Song. Mmmm... 4th Verse: So if you sometimes feel afraid... of this made-up world we made. Then you can trust inside, and you'll know everything's okay. Ending Chorus: And now we're living by the rhythm of the Soul, and it's Calling us Home. We're giving up believing that we've ever known anything at all. We're forgiving ourselves for being afraid and running away. We're living by the rhythm of the Soul, and we're on our way back Home.

LYRICS: 1st Verse: Can you hear... the Song... playing silently everywhere. It's hard to hear... if you're listening only with your ears. And can you see... the Light... shining endlessly through your mind. It's hard to find... if you're looking only with your eyes. And can you smile... the Smile... that lightens up the world for a while. But don't try... it will come naturally when you're Inspired by the Love inside. 2nd Verse: Can you see... that we're imprisoned only by our beliefs. And we're free... anytime that we choose to be. If you take my hand... we'll rise together from this foreign land. And see... that we never need to think nor plan. We must only decide... we'll be happy once we've made up our mind. Bridge: Walking faster only slows you down. Just be patient, keep your feet on the ground. 3rd Verse: Can you feel the Love? It's all around to help you rise above... All the pain and fear you've been dreaming of. It's alright to just let go and simply fall in Love. 4th Verse: Can you hear... the Song... playing silently everywhere. It's right here... singing softly that there's nothing to fear.

about

"Traveling Minstrel" was the first collection of songs I put together as part of a home-made CD in 2009, shortly after leaving behind my old career for a life devoted solely to God and music. It contains home recordings of the songs that came through me directly following this transition, and which were later re-recorded as part of my studio album "Heaven is Perfect". In chronological order of being written, these songs were: "Just Relax", "Let Life Unfold", "Already Home", "Rhythm of the Soul", and "The Silent Song". I've also included two versions of my song "Peace of Mind" which I've always felt marked the beginning of my conscious spiritual journey. The version put as the last track on this album was recorded with my college band "Dusk" in the late 90's, and Track 1 was re-recorded with the rest of the songs on this album in 2009. Finally, I chose to include my rendition of Carol King's "You've Got a Friend" (popularized by James Taylor) as a tribute to the Inner Friend we all have in our heart. Enjoy! ❤
